Running is one of the most important parts of my life. It’s my happy place. It’s where I find myself and lose myself all at the same time.
Running has allowed me to find love and admiration for what my mind and body are capable of. It’s where I can challenge myself and overcome all my self-doubt. It’s where I find my courage.
Running is how I can see the world from a different point of view. It’s where I feel the most freedom. It’s where I can dream.
And most of all,
RUNNING MAKES ME FEEL ALIVE!

I’m a distance runner. I’ve been trained to keep going, even when it’s hard, when it hurts, when it sucks, when I don’t want to. I look past it. Relentless forward progress to the finish. Call it what you want, stubbornness, endurance, determination, guts. Deep down, I don’t know how to give up.
[And it’s always worth it in the end.]
I run today for change. I run today for love.
I run today for hope. I run today for unity.
I vow to do my part to try to walk [or run!] a mile in someone else’s shoes. To educate myself. To learn. To listen. To grow. To act.
May we use running and movement today and everyday to help us heal. To help us open our minds. To help us feel connected. To help us come together. To help us spread love. To help us make change happen.
